The Algerian security  forces killed an extremist and arrested another in Tebessa province in eastern Algeria on Monday and Tuesday after monitoring their movements. The forces set up an ambush in Boudjelal Mountain and they were also able to retrieve a Kalashnikov weapon while the rest of the militants fled into the mountains. This operation is the second of its kind. Two days earlier the Algerian security forces were able to eliminate the armed groups in Boumerdes province which is located about 35 km east of Algiers. These procedures are within the security framework approved by the Director General for National Security to allocate about 6,000 policemen in the capital and to tighten and intensify security barriers at the entrances to the interior provinces. According to some sources, Algerian security thwarted a suicide bombing attempt that targeted the military academy in Cherchell. The academy was targeted in the same month last year, leading to many deaths and wounded. The security sources added they captured a young man while taking pictures for the Academy. Sources, published in “Al Khabar” newspaper, stated that the young man is 16 years and has a history of supporting militant networks as he was assigned by  the “Guardians of Salafism\" group headed by Abu al-Hasan.
