Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum announced that a Hamas delegation, headed by politburo chief Khalid Meshaal, is to discuss important issues with the Jordanian King in Amman, Sunday, particularly the Judaization of Jerusalem, the illegal settlements, and the Palestinian reconciliation. Barhoum said, in a press release copied to ‘Arabstoday’, that the visit aims to strengthen the relations between Hamas and Jordan, particularly in the light of the Arab Spring and the reconciliation. He stressed that Hamas is keen on the success of the visit to establish lasting bilateral relations between the Palestinian Islamic movement and the Hashemite kingdom, following the tension that prevailed since 1999, when Hamas leaders were expelled from Jordan. A Hamas senior delegation arrived to Amman on Saturday, to prepare for the long-awaited meeting between Jordan’s King Abdullah and Hamas politburo chief Khalid Meshaal in Amman on Sunday. A senior informed source told the Palestinian Information Center that the leadership delegation includes Deputy Head of the Politburo Mousa Abu Marzouk, and politburo members Sami Khater, Ezzat al-Rashk Mohamed Nazal, and Mohamed Nasr. The source added that Meshaal is to arrive to Amman on Sunday, on the private jet of Qatari Crown Prince Tamim Ben Hamad al-Thani, where they will be officially received before Meshaal heads to meet the Jordanian monarch. Meanwhile, other meetings will be held between the Jordanian government and the rest of the officials.
