Beirut - George Chahin
Lebanese security sources have told Arabs Today that a Jordanian man of Palestinian origin has been arrested on suspicion of spying on the Director General of Public Security, Major General Ibrahim Saleh Abbas, on behalf of a Palestinian group. The group, based in Jordan, is close to the Palestinian Colonel Mohammed Dahlan and is thought to cooperate with Israeli intelligence. The detainee admitted to the Lebanese security sources that he was able to move freely between Lebanon, Syria and Jordan because of his military position. Meanwhile, the Lebanese General Security forces have arrested nine Syrians that were promoting prostitution in the Jubail area east of Beirut.
