Former US president and founder of the Carter Center for Peace, Jimmy Carter, arrived in Cairo on a visit that will last several days to monitor the first presidential elections in Egypt. This is Carter\'s second visist in the last 6 months after visitinf the country during its parliamentary elections. Carter is scheduled to visit many officials and discuss the presidential election, which is under the supervision of the Supreme Presidential Elections Committee. Carter will also meet with the speaker of the Egyptian parliament Saad Katatni. The former president was received at the VIP lounge at Cairo airport by US ambassador Anne Patrus and members of the embassy, who sat with him for half an hour.
