Prime Minister of the outgoing Palestinian government in Gaza Ismail Haniyeh met Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday. Haniyeh discussed the Palestinian reconciliation, Jerusalem, the Gaza siege and the reconstruction among other issues with the Sheikh. The Tuesday meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah and head of the honorary mission at the Amiri Diwan Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatoug, in addition to the Palestinian delegation accompanying Haniyeh. Haniyeh congratulated Sheikh Al-Sabah on the last democratic elections, and reviewed with him the recent developments of the reconciliation and the agreement signed by Fatah and Hamas on Monday. Haniyeh also addressed the alleged increasing Judaisation of Jerusalem and the imposed siege on Palestinians, which led to tough consequences concerning unemployment and electricity. He also addressed the reconstruction of what the occupation forces destroyed during the second war of aggression on Gaza. For his part, Amir Al-Sabah stressed that the Palestinian cause was a priority to Kuwait - particularly the issue of Jerusalem. He praised the steps taken in the reconciliation and highlighted its significance. In addition, he announced his country’s willingness to actively contribute to the reconstruction of infrastructure in Gaza, and saying there was a need to solve the electricity issue by communication with officials in Egypt.
