Iraqi TV presenter Ghazwan Abed was killed Monday evening by gunmen when they opened fire with machine guns in the south-east of Mosul. A security source in Ninewa province said the gunmen attacked the journalist’s house on Monday evening. Abed worked as a television presenter in Mosul\'s local channel “Sama TV”. The source who asked not to be named told Arabstoday that the gunmen stormed the house of Ghazwan Abed in the Somer neighbourhood (south-east of Mosul) and they opened fire on the victim, killing him instantly before fleeing. The security forces, who came to the house upon hearing the sound of shooting, were not able arrest the killers. The forces inspected the place and transported the victim to the forensic laboratory in Ninewa province. Mosul city is located 405km north of Baghdad and is a hotspot for armed operations against security forces and civilians.
