The Israeli newspaper, "Haaretz", claimed on Sunday that the request application for the state of Palestine presented by the President Mahmoud Abbas to the Secretary General Ban Ki-moon includes a ‘recognition of Israel as a Jewish state”, according to a copy of the request obtained by the newspaper. according to the newspaper, it was said in the request that: “the application for membership is being submitted based on the Palestinian people's natural, legal and historic rights and based on United Nations General Assembly resolution 181 on November 29, 1947 which talks about ‘ establishment of a Jewish state along with the Arab state, as well as the Declaration of Independence of the State of Palestine of 15 November 1988 and the acknowledgement by the General Assembly of this Declaration in resolution 43/177 of 15 December 1988.” It was also said in the request: “the state of Palestine shall be committed to reach a fair and long lasting solution to the Israeli - Palestinian-based conflict based on “two states living side by side in peace and security.” On the other hand, the Israeli army will carry out an assessment to measure the situation , and the need of keeping the high alert situation in the West Bank. Israeli reports quoted Israeli military sources saying that the ongoing Israeli security coordination with the Palestinian security services prevented the escalation of violence in the light of the Palestinian president speech. According to Haaretz, two Israeli officers said that the Palestinian security services had successfully faced the mass demonstrations in the Palestinian cities, and did not allow them to reach areas under the Israeli control.
