Cairo - Akram Ali
Farid El-Deeb, the attorney of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, who was believed to have fled the country, appeared at the court session held at the Police Academy, where Mubarak, his sons, the former Interior Minister and aides are facing trial for killing protesters. El-Deeb returned to Cairo on Wednesday evening from Paris, where he said he stayed for 10 days to receive medical treatment. El-Deeb expressed his astonishment about what has been reported in the media and the rumours of his escape after concluding his defence argument on January 22. He explained that on account of a deterioration of his health and complications to a cardiac pillar procedure, he contacted his French doctor and scheduled a visit on January 23. Accordingly, he left to Lebanon on January 22, and flew to Paris later the same day.
