Ali Mohamed bin Subaih Al Kaabi, Customs Commissioner and Chairman of the Federal Customs Authority, FCA, has discussed with the US Ambassador to the UAE, Barbara Leaf, ways to enhance cooperation with the United States and mechanisms to facilitate trade exchange, and develop solutions to trade obstacles between the two countries.
During the meeting, held at FCA's headquarters, Al Kaabi affirmed that the US is a strategic trading partner of the UAE and that the trade relations between the two countries are witnessing a continuous increase in the volume of trade during the past years under the economic openness policy adopted by the UAE.
Ambassador Leaf expressed her confidence that there are significant opportunities for cooperation between the customs sector in both countries in light of the progress and technological development witnessed by the industry in both countries.
Paul Malik, US Consul-General in Dubai, Eva d'Ambrosio, Economic Officer at US Embassy in UAE, Mohammad Juma Buossaiba, Director-General of FCA, along with a number senior officials and representatives of Dubai Customs, also attended the meeting.
