Iranian Revolutionary Guards Al-Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani secretly visited Beirut and met with leaders of Hezbollah. This visit aroused several opposing reactions. March 14 General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soueid said on Friday that the alleged visit by the head of Iran’s elite Al-Quds Force, Qassem Suleimani, to Lebanon, “directly endangers the Lebanese people, particularly those living in the south.” A security source told Arabstoday that making public the visit of a person responsible for the Syrian, Lebanon and Iraqi files, as well as the global liberation movements and the external operations of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is not likely,   at least in the foreseeable future. The movements of these figures are secretive, even to the security services. \"Such figures are in possession of several passports which appear genuine even if faked\", the source added. Soueid issued a statement that the visit shows that Lebanon’s Shia group Hezbollah “is beholdent to Iran” The security source  added that Soleimani’s alleged visit “was for the purpose of coordinating the necessary steps to be in the event that Iran is attacked [by Israel].” Al-Arabiya TV reported that Qasem Soleimani met with Hezbollah leaders in a secret visit to discuss the situation in Syria.
