Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz issued a royal decree for appointing Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz as the head of the Saudi Intelligence Agency, succeeding Prince Meqren bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi state TV reported. “Prince Meqren bin Abdul Aziz has been deposed from his current post and appointed as the King’s Adviser and Special Envoy,” the Saudi state TV reported. The TV reported that Prince Bandar, the son of the late Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz and the former ambassador to the United States, “has been appointed as the head of the Saudi Intelligence Agency, in addition to his post as the secretary general of the National Security Council.”
