Egypt’s April 6 youth movement announced its support for former Muslim Brotherhood senior official Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh as a presidential candidate. Spokesperson Tariq al-Kholi said Fotouh will also be supported by Islamists. Al-Kholi revealed that the movement will hold meetings with a number of Egyptian presidential candidates such as the salafist Hazem Salah Abu Ismail and Islamist thinker Mohammad Salim Al-Awa.
