Algerian Minister of Religious Affairs Mohamed Eissa revealed that the government orders mosques’ preachers not to use the sermons or religious schools in the electoral campaigns of the candidates who run for the coming parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on May 4.He added, in press statements on the sideline of a parliamentary session, “I issued my orders not to the involve the religious platforms or schools in the electoral process in the framework of the coming parliamentary elections.” He added that the preachers are banned from expressing their opinions or using their platforms to direct the citizens to vote for any candidates during the coming elections.
