The Jordanian government has denied receiving an official notification from Israel asking to prevent the international Jerusalem march next Friday. Communications minister and official spokesperson Rakan al-Majali said Jordan could not prevent any national, islamic or civil request as long as it was peaceful. The government pointed out that Israel was an occupying force and no Arab or Islamic country could accept their attacks on the Palestinians. Political sources had earlier told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Israel had sent a warning letter to Jordan and neighbouring countries asking to prevent the march.
