Cairo - Mohamed El-Shennawi
The Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Nabil Al-Arabi considered that the General Assembly of the United Nations this year should have been called a “Palestinian Assembly". Al-Arabi said in a statement on Wednesday evening, after returning from the General Assembly of the United Nations that “President Mahmoud Abbas has spoken wisely and very clearly. We hope to see results soon." In response to a question on the movement of the Arab League to support the Palestinian demand, Al-Arabi said: "I met the President of the Security Council, President of the General Assembly and also the Secretary General of the United Nations, and we are waiting to see what will happen in the near future ". President Abbas delivered a speech in the General Assembly last Friday, where he talked about the Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, and announced his request for the UN recognition of a Palestinian state on the borders of 1967 and a full membership in the General Assembly.
