Baghdad – Najlaa El Taee
Ninewa governorate PM said in a statement that, residents of Mosul were prevented from entering Baghdad, expressing her resentment over such procedure. She said the residents were stopped from entering the city without any apparent reasons and the officers notified the residents that this order came directly from the Prime Minister, Haider Al Abadi.
“This procedure is a constitutional violation that is considered a clear threat to the national unity and underestimating the Iraqi people and forces’ sacrifices towards stability” she said, expressing his wish that this order was issued by some individuals not the prime minster.
She said Mosul residents have been treated unfairly from Daesh ruling and faced hardships of displacement along with their great sacrifices in liberation battles, and they can’t be treated like that again, adding that Baghdad doesn’t belong to a person, party or organization, and it is Iraq’s capital. Most of the people that were prevented from entering were state officials, and advisors of government departments and ministries.
