Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said on Friday that Israel has increased expanding the settlements during the past two weeks, which approves that Netanyahu’s government doesn’t take the international legitimacy into account, and therefore it doesn’t want to have peace with Palestinians. Abbas said in an interview with reporters following his meeting with the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, at the Elysee Palace in Paris, that: \"Israel is determined on expanding the settlements, which that was obvious in the past two weeks, and today it approved a new plan to build a new settlement in East Jerusalem, which includes the construction of 2610 units.” He added: “ this shows that it does not take into account the international legitimacy.” Abbas said: “we have agreed with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, that the formal legal process will be taking time and we do not accept political action.” President Sarkozy discussed during the meeting the latest developments in light of the Palestinian request to obtain a full membership in United Nations.
