To add to this weekend's festive celebrations, Abu Dhabi Police have announced 50 per cent discount on all traffic fines in the Capital.

According to a statement issued on Friday, the force announced 50 per cent reduction on fines issued for all types of traffic offences in the emirate.

The discount is applicable on offences committed from August 1, 2016 till December 1, 2017.

Residents can benefit from this discount by paying the fines in the next 60 days, starting from December 2 (Saturday).

"If you don't pay within this period (60 days), the fines will have to be paid in full," Abu Dhabi Police said in a statement.

The discount also includes car impoundment fees.
