An estiamted 28 Palestinians have been injured, 4 reported to be in a critical condition, in an explosion at a wedding hall in the village of Tirmissiya near Ramallah late on Thursday night. The explosion is believed to have been caused by fireworks used during a wedding ceremony. The injured were evacuated to hospitals in Ramallah, except for one seriously wounded, who was transferred to an Israeli hospital. Two other cases required limb amputation surgery, the head of the village\'s municipality told Arabstoday. Farid Lidawdeh, Ramallah\'s police spokesperson, told Arabstoday that an investigation was underway to determine who was responsible for the explosion. Lidawdeh urged citizens to stop using fireworks for their social ceremonies, which endanger lives, and warned that the police would resume its campaign against the trade in fireworks in the city. Ramallah\'s Governor Dr Laila Ghannam visited the injured in Palestine hospital and cautioned that according to the instructions of President Mahmoud Abbas, the fireworks trade in the West Bank is illegal, and whoever is involved, will be prosecuted according to the law. She revealed that some traders have already been called in for investigation by the police.
