Activists said at least 15 people were killed in Syrian army violent shelling of Homs, targeting Baba Amr district and Homs facilities, according to the Syrian Local Coordination Committees (LCC), as part of a serious escalation of the regime attacks on protesters. The Syrian regime army has reportedly shelled areas in Homs with tanks and rockets on Monday. Rebels claim that the shelling has hit a field hospital in the Baba Amr district, causing casualties. However, the news has not been confirmed yet. The field hospital is treating dozens of injured coming from previous assaults in Homs. An anti-government campaigner told the BBC the government was also using helicopters and tanks in the assault. Syrian state TV said \"terrorist gangs\" had blown up buildings in Homs. Meanwhile, three regime officers were killed and 19 were detained during an attack launched by army deserters at Zawiya in Idlib. Both Syrian media and activists are reporting clashes also in the northern city of Idlib and the town of Zabanadi, north-west of Damascus.
