At least 11 people including women and children were injured in a heavy explosion rocked the central city of Sherbarghan in northern Afghan Jowzjan province early Thursday morning. According to reports, the incident took place near the house of provincial electoral chief Haji Mohammad. The injured were taken to provincial hospital for treatment, Afghan Online Newspaper (Khaama Press) reported. Provincial hospital officials said the health condition of four individuals injured following the incident is critical. No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
