Israeli troops killed one and wounded three more people on the border with Egypt after a group of suspects infiltrated into Israel on Thursday night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement. The statement said that IDF soldiers patrolling the border asked the suspects to stop and, when they failed to comply, opened fire on them. “Simultaneously, shots were fired from Egyptian territory. Three suspects were hit during this exchange of fire,” the statement said. “Following a short pursuit, IDF soldiers caught the three injured suspects, and found at the point of infiltration a fourth deceased suspect,” the statement added. Wounded suspects were evacuated by a helicopter for a medical treatment in an Israeli hospital.
