Saudi health minister Khaled Abdel Aziz

Saudi health minister Khaled Abdel Aziz Al Faleh launched on Monday the field medical fleet in the presence of the heads of the Hajj missions.

As many as 180 makeshift clinics are deployed in the sacred sites to offer health care for pilgrims, said Al Faleh.

Around two million pilgrims are performing the Hajj this year, according to the minister.

The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey.
