They contain ingredients that may affect the health

The Dubai Municipality has issued a warning against the consumption of 11 slimming health supplements as they contain ingredients that are banned internationally.

The advisory was shared by Dubai Municipality on their official Instagram handle. According to the post, the 11 supplements are not licensed by the authorities. The products also pose a safety risk to consumers as they contain banned ingredients.

The municipality continuously posts advisories of products that are not approved by government bodies. Earlier in April, they had issued a warning against 15 slimming medicines. These medicines were confiscated from the market for containing harmful ingredients. Many of these items tend to have exaggerated promises such as '100% herbal' or 'quick weight loss'.

They also urge residents to report the presence of any banned products on the number 800900.
