The Dubai Health Authority’s Rashid Hospital has participated in the Charing Cross Symposium in London. The symposium provides a platform for specialists from around the world to discuss the latest vascular and endovascular interventions.
This year the symposium focused on peripheral arterial, aortic, venous and acute stroke consensus.
Dr. Afra Meaism Al Falahi, Radiology Resident at Rashid Hospital, presented two papers at the symposium about early prevention and treatment of acute brain strokes as well as lower limb deep venous thrombosis. The papers where conducted under the supervision of Interventional radiologist at Rashid Hospital, Dr. Ayman Al Sibai.
Dr. Al Falahi said that Rashid Hospital’s success rate in vascular and endovascular interventions has reached 75 percent, which is relatively higher than the European success rate of 71 percent.
Rashid Hospital was the only participant from the UAE and GCC to provide insights about the country’s latest practices in the field.
Rashid Hospital’s participation in the conference is in line with the hospital’s objective of achieving continuous and sustainable development in all medical fields.
