The Public Health and Safety Department at Dubai Municipality has called upon the public regarding rumours about a perfume called 'Relax', that was said to contain poison that will kill the consumer after a few days.
The department says that there are no scientific notifications or reliable results about this rumour (read Dubai Municipality's Instagram post here).
The department stated that the general chemical content of any aromatic product may hurt people by inhalation or by an allergic reaction.
Additionally, the Consumer Products Safety Section affirms that these products are effectively controlled to ensure that the products are safe and comply with the adopted requirements and procedures in accordance with the laws and regulations of the country.
It is worth mentioning that the product is not registered in the dumped cargo database.
Dubai Municipality, through call and survey systems, monitors the status of products that may affect differently at the local, regional and international levels and continuously educates consumers.
Finally, DM appeals to all individuals and institutions to immediately communicate with them regarding the safety of consumer products.
