Commander of the Royal Medical Services, and Chairman of the National Committee for the Unified Purchase of Drugs, Major-General, Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, held a meeting with Egyptian Eva Pharma company.
Held following directives from the Supreme Council for Health President, Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the meeting aimed to agree on Eva Pharma’s provision of medicines for liver diseases, in general, and Hepatitis C. in particular, as the Egyptian company has been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
The kingdom, represented by the SCH, seeks to eradicate the hepatitis disease through close cooperation with Eva Pharma, which will supply Bahrain with the necessary medicines at economy prices, as stipulated by the agreement signed between it and the National Committee for the Unified Purchase of Drugs.The agreement is within Bahrain hepatitis C-free country campiagn.
Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali said that the agreement was within the Bahraini-Egyptian cooperation to improve the health situation.
