At least 10 people have died of suspected encephalitis in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh recently, The Press Trust of India reported on Saturday. Earlier this month, 19 children have died of suspected encephalitis in Bihar in northern India. The victims of the epidemic reported high fever, followed by bouts of unconsciousness and convulsions, Xinhua quoted hospital sources as saying. Indian government has sent medical experts and personnel to the villages being hit by the epidemic.
