The Zayed Giving Convoys

The Zayed Giving Convoys have provided medical treatment to 4,000 children and elderly people in Egypt, by conducting their diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic services in many Egyptian villages through specialist Emirati and Egyptian volunteer doctors.

The humanitarian gesture is in line with the Year of Giving Initiative 2017 launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and a collaboration between the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Society, the Saudi-German Hospital and the Sharjah Charity House, in co-ordination with Egyptian health authorities.

The move represents a distinguished model of humanitarian work and voluntary medical relief.

Omran Abdullah, Member of Zayed Giving Convoys' Work Team and Head of Charitable Projects at Dar Al Ber Society, stated that 60 medical convoys were sent to many Egyptian villages, to offer health and medical care to thousands of underprivileged Egyptian people.

''The charitable medical mission was a response to the Year of Giving initiative and part a unique international campaign to treat one million children and elderly people,'' he added, in a statement marking the conclusion of the medical mission in Egypt.

''Our next task is to attract and train volunteer doctors, to join our mobile clinics and field hospitals,'' he further added.
