HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities welcomed the silver sponsorship offered by Al-Hawaj Group to the third edition of Khalid bin Hamad Theatres Festival For National Clubs, Youth Centres and People With Disability, affirming that it will add to the success of the festival.
Held under the patronage of HH, the festival is organised on the stage of Muharraq Model Youth Centre in Busaiteen by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa welcomed the sponsorship of Al-Hawaj Group and affirmed that it will contribute to the success of the festival.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa thanked the officials of Al-Hawaj Group for sponsoring and supporting youth, sports and cultural activities in the Kingdom, adding that their supportive stances is a motivation and encouragement to organise more events that attract the youth of Bahrain.
On his part, Abdul-Wahab Al-Hawaj, Head of Al-Hawaj Group, praised the improved organising and performance seen in the festival in its third edition this year.
Al-Hawaj said that the group is proud to sponsor the festival and that it appreciates the unending support of HH to the different youth, sports and cultural events and activities in the Kingdom.
He pointed out that the reputation of Khalid Bin Hamad Theatres Festival for National Clubs, Youth Centres and People with Disability has considerably grown in the past five years.
Al-Hawaj commended on HH’s humanitarian stances by insisting on including people with disabilities in the different social, sports and cultural activities.
He added that the sponsorship comes within the responsibilities of the group towards the community and its recognition of the importance of community partnership.
It is worth mentioning that the festival was launched on October 4 by Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, the Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, on behalf of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and the shows will continue to the 21st of the same month.
The festival is annually held as part of Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa Initiatives to support the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and engage them with different events and activities.
This year’s edition is themed #Let’s_Plant_A_Smile and aims to empower the youth of Bahrain in the fields of arts, culture and humanitarian works.
More notable personalities and figures visit the festival and watch the plays performed by local youth centres and clubs.
Veteran Bahraini Actor Saad Al-Buainain visited the festival on Sunday and commended on the good organising of the event and the entertaining performance of the participating teams.
Al-Buainain underlined the noble goals set by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to support the youth and encourage them by providing the suitable environment to develop their talents and skills.
The actor attended “6 lights” play, one of the three additional shows held on the side-lines of the festival. It was presented by East Riffa Youth Centre and directed by Yaqoub Al-Murbati. The show included a song performed by disabled violin player Ali Al-Alaiwi, who was honoured by Al-Buainain for his remarkable appearance and performance. Al-Buainain also awarded Al-Murbati, who directed the play and joined the acting team in the performance.
The final secondary show in the festival will be presented by Al-Naeem Youth Centre on Tuesday and is titled “Speech of the Brush”. The play will be directed by Adbulla Al-Qattan.
