At the directives of National Guard President His Highness Lt-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Homeland Shield Drill2 has begun.
The National Guard's Director of Staff, Major-General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, inspected the command-and-control centre and the participating units in the military exercise which continues over three days at the Sakhir camp.
The National Guard commanded by His Highness President of the National Guard will continue its policy of development, armament, building the National Guard organization in line with modern duties and military requirements based on contemporary scientific and military theories,said Major-General Shaikh Abdulaziz expressing his appreciation of, and pride in, the efforts exerted to ensure the success of this drill, and praising the high morale and vigour of all commanders and soldiers of the national Guard participating in the Homeland Shield Drill2.
The drill which comes in compliance with HH the President of the National Guard aims to train the forces on the various stages, including preparation, readiness, duties, missions implemented by the participating units, with simulation of key areas in the Kingdom, whilst observing the protection of human rights and legal aspects during implementation of their practical duties.
The drill also aims to test the practical proficiency of command-and-control at the various echelons, training command and the staff corps on planning homeland security operations, command workstations and simulation of realistic field conditions, harnessing the fully-integrated military telecommunications network of the National Guard
