Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has paid an inspection visit to the Um Al-Hassam Parents Care Home to identify the needs of the elderly there.
The visit follows directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to directives to service ministries to inspect regions to meet the citizens and be informed about their real needs.
The minister, who was accompanied by MP Abdulrahman Bumjaid and several Capital Trustees’ Board members, met a number of elderly women and listened to their remarks on their needs.
He was also informed about the recreational, social and artistic activities provided by the facility to the elderly, calling on the officials of the Um Al-Hassam Parents Care Home to intensify cooperation with the Manama Community Centre in Juffair to benefit from its diversified programmes.
Humaidan affirmed the leadership’s interest in the elderly for their landmark contributions to the kingdom’s progress march, noting that the Labour and Social Development Ministry has adopted an ambitious plan to develop its services to the elderly, women and men.
The beneficiaries of the Um Al-Hassam Parents Care Home extended heartfelt appreciation to the government, led by HRH the Prime Minister, for providing al forms of care for the elderly in order to ensure them the requirements of decent living, especially in the social and health fields.
They also thanked the Labour and Social Development Ministry for its services and initiatives that benefit the citizens, particularly the elderly.
MP Abdulrahman Bumjaid lauded the Labour and Social Development Ministry’s efforts to deliver high quality services to various social segments, especially the elderly, stressing that Bahrain is a role model for elderly care.
