King Hamad Youth Empowermen

Registration for the King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award was closed on a high note.
Public and private sectors institutions and individuals from 84 countries in the world registered to vie for the award which aims at empowering youth to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.

The Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs is organizing the award in cooperation with the United Nations as part of its strategy to contribute to achieving global sustainable development objectives.
Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs Hesham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder hailed the flux of participants which, he said, reflects the noble goals of the award in its first edition.
He stressed the importance of the award, the first of its kind, in creating a fertile ground to implement the sustainable development goals and promote the culture of innovativeness.
The award carries four categories – Government institutions, private sector institutions, non-governmental institutions and individuals.
The ministry has already launched a string of pioneering initiatives with the aim of empowering and training youngsters to hone their skills, being the cornerstone of national development.
Al-Jowder underscored the importance of investing in the young generation through training and honing of skills.
