King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today attended the 2nd Bahrain-Morocco International Endurance Championship. Horse riders representing Bahrain, Morocco, Tunisia and several other European countries competed in the 120-km race in Rabat. The King was welcomed on arrival by Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation President Prince Abdulla Al-Alawi, Royal Team Captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Al-Khaldia Stables Captain Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Sultan bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. During the fifth 20km-phase of the race, HM the King toured Dar Al-Salam region at the vicinity of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation and witnessed the efforts of the of the Royal Team led by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to assert Bahrain\'s edge in the endurance sport. The King hailed the role of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to bolster Bahraini-Moroccan sport relations, describing the 2nd edition of the endurance race as the fruit of the bilateral cooperation, which contributed in promoting endurance sport in Morocco and North Africa. The King congratulated Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for their one-two victory, ensuring another milestone in their record of landmark achievements, ever since the endurance sport was first launched in 2000. The King hailed strong bilateral relations bonding Bahrain and Morocco, stressing both countries\' resolve to promote constructive cooperation. The King then crowned Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Khalifa Al-Dosary, respectively winners of the top three spots, before attending Moroccan fantasia horse shows. King Hamad earlier arrived in Rabat to attend the 2nd Bahrain-Morocco International Endurance Championship which started this morning.
