His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday chaired a meeting to follow up on the progress of work on implementing the government’s plan to develop the public sector and accelerate the accomplishment of the e-government program.
During the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace that was attended by Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, the King stressed the importance of full commitment to reforming the public sector and overcoming any obstacles that might face this process as it is a strategic track that benefits all Jordanians.
The meeting also reviewed programs related to public sector reform including the implementation of the e-government program. His Majesty stressed the need for cooperation between all ministries and various institutions to carry out the plan without any delay.
He said that anyone who hampers these programs or other plans to improve economic performance and develop services, will be held accountable, adding that efforts of each official will be assessed in accordance with the accomplishments they makes.
Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki said that a number of government services will be fully computerized by the first of January 2018.
During the meeting, ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh presented a briefing about the government’s plans to implement e-services as well as measures that will be taken to reform the public sector to serve citizens and improve performance of various institution.
The meeting was also attended by the Royal Court chief and the director of the King’s Office.
