Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi lauded the royal patronage of Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC) 2017 to be held on October 16-18.
Al Romaihi described the event as one of the most important regional military exhibitions that reflects the kingdom’s status as an effective partner in achieving global peace, security and stability and an influential element in the international alliance to fight extremism and terrorism.
The minister was speaking during a visit to the media centre at Bahrain International Exhibitions and Conventions Centre to get informed on the ongoing preparations for the media coverage of the international event. He lauded the efforts of Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Royal Guard Commander and Head of BIDEC High Organising Committee Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in coordinating national efforts to ensure success of the event which will bring together an elite of regional and international military and diplomatic figures.
Al Romaihi underlined the ministry’s keenness, in cooperation with BDF, to provide the needed media and technical facilities for local and international mass media to cover the event and its allied activities, being a milestone in the specialised international military exhibitions and conventions industry.
He asserted readiness of the Information Ministry to provide a comprehensive TV, radio and news coverage of the event and re-affirm the growing global confidence in Bahrain’s organisational and logistic capabilities thanks to the prevalent climate of security and stability in the kingdom as well as its attractive tourism and investment environment.
The minister pointed out that more than 100 manufacturing and importing companies will showcase cutting edge military equipment and technologies to visitors who will also enjoy technical and military shows.
He pointed out the ministry’s completion of all preparations to cover the event and provide live TV broadcasting service, interviews and documentaries and added that due to the importance of the event, more than 200 media and technical competencies will fully engage in covering the first edition of BIDEC and its associated functions, including the Middle East Military Alliances Conference (MEMAC) which will convene alongside the exhibition on October 16-17.
