His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and British Prime Minister Theresa May held a telephone conversation.
HM King Hamad congratulated Prime Minister May on winning the parliamentary election and wished her success in meeting the requirements of the next phase for the welfare of the United Kingdom and its friendly people.
HM the King expressed confidence in the constant progress of the deep-rooted and robust relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom in various fields.
Prime Minister May expressed her thanks and gratitude for Bahrain’s messages of sympathy and support following the recent terrorist attacks in Manchester and London, noting that radicalisation and extremist violence were shared threats.
The British Prime Minister referred to the developments of the crisis between Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Qatar and called on all sides to engage in dialogue, and restore Gulf Cooperation Council unity at the earliest possible opportunity.
The Prime Minister also noted that Qatar should do more to address the scourge of radicalisation and terrorism, in partnership with its allies in the Gulf region.
