Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw said Tuesday he has been discharged from a New York hospital after being assaulted early Monday. "Honestly, I don't remember much. I only know I can recover from here," People.com quoted DeGraw as saying via Twitter. "Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys." DeGraw, 34, was hospitalized with a concussion, broken nose, black eyes and facial lacerations following the attack by several people. Police said they did not know what the motivation was for the attack. "Police are conducting an investigation of the attack. Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time. We have no information yet regarding his upcoming concert dates and promotion for his new album," his publicist said Tuesday. The New York Post said the performer had been out drinking in Manhattan and had just left his friends when he was set upon by his assailants. After his attackers fled the scene, DeGraw stumbled several blocks and was hit by a cab, the newspaper said.
