Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Al-Nuaimi led Bahrain’s delegation to the extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Educational Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in Kuwait.
Kuwaiti nominee Dr. Saud Al-Harbi was elected as ALECSO director-general for a four-year renewable term, taking over from late Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al-Muhareb, who passed away last May.
Dr. Al-Nuaimi paid homage to late ALECSO director-general, hailing the landmark achievements during his tenure, including the inauguration of the new headquarters and the launch of programmes and studies.
The Tunisian-based ALECSO, established in July of 1970, has some 22-member countries who work together to better education and culture in the Arab region.
