Minister Ayman Safadi

The cabinet was briefed Wednesday by Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, on latest developments related to the Israeli embassy shooting incident in which two Jordanian citizens were killed.

In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, Safadi spoke about measures taken to ensure Jordanians’ right of achieving justice, based on international law, which has provided legal tools and means to follow up that right in order to reach criminal justice.

The minister reiterated that there were no deals or negotiations over the right of Jordanian families whose sons were killed in the incident, saying the Kingdom will do all that has to be done to ensure justice.

The cabinet instructed the Minister of Justice to follow up on the case and the ongoing investigations with the Attorney-General. The cabinet also gave instructions to from a team of the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, the Minister of Justice and a legal representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to come up with a legal action plan, at all levels including the international if required, to prepare for the post-investigation phase of the prosecution and the start of the trial and the verdict.
