The grief-stricken father of murdered honeymoon bride Anni Dewani will scatter her ashes in a beautiful lake beside the town where she was born. Vinod Hindocha, 61, will accompany Anni, 28, on her final journey to Mariestad, Sweden next week after he collects her remains from a London undertaker. His brother Ashok said at the family home: “We will gather around Lake Vanern, where Anni loved spending her childhood swimming, cycling, walking and playing with friends. “It will be sad and poignant. Bringing Anni home will be her last journey.” Anni was shot on the outskirts of Cape Town last November after marrying Bristol businessman Shrien Dewani, 31. Vinod wept in court in the South African city on Friday when two men suspected of her murder, Mziwamadoda Qwabe, 25, and Xolile Mngeni, 23, were remanded to prison. The case was adjourned until Shrien, also a suspect, faces an extradition hearing in May. Anni’s husband, who denies involvement in her death, swallowed 46 sleeping pills last Sunday in an apparent suicide bid. Ashok told The People yesterday: “Every day is a living torture for Anni’s parents. Although we are bringing her home we won’t start grieving until we know for sure who killed her. However, scattering her ashes where she was happiest will help.”
