Morocco's Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and the Environment, Abdelakder Amara
Morocco works for the emergence of an integrated energy market in the Maghreb, and for a sustainable development of the energy sector at the regional level, said Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and the Environment, Abdelakder Amara
.
“Morocco, through the launch of its renewable energy programs, has already embarked on this path, and works for the emergence of an integrated regional energy market and for the sustainable development of the energy sector at the regional level,” said Amara in an interview published in French-speaking daily “Le Matin du Sahara et du Maghreb.”
The integration of the Kingdom into the Euro-Mediterranean energy system, including the Maghreb, is a major focus of its energy strategy to fully play its role as an important player in regional energy cooperation, he recalled.
The Advanced Status granted to Morocco by the European Union promotes the full integration of the Moroccan energy sector, and allows for greater market openness of the EU countries on Moroccan green electricity, he explained.
