The Emirates Women Awards 2015, EWA, were presented yesterday to local and expatriate women achievers from diverse fields of business and technology.
The EWA ceremony, organised by the Dubai Quality Group, was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and honorary patron of the Dubai Quality Group, along with dignitaries and businesswomen from across the country.
The award, now in its 12th year, continues to recognise inspirational women across all business sectors and is also a motivator for the future generation of women to achieve their true potential and thereby empower their status in society.
The participants were judged based on their leadership skills, strategic and financial planning, career achievements, community contribution and innovation. The criterion also included UAE citizenship, or a valid residence permit for non-citizens, with minimum three years of experience in their area of specialisation.
Ms. Laila Ali Saif Bin Hareb Al Muhairi was the first-prize winner in the professional category and Ms. Hamda Ismail Harizi was awarded first place in the Businesswomen category.
