Al-Amin once claimed Hezbollah critics were ‘Israeli collaborators’

Lebanese media advocacy group, Media Against Violence, has demanded al-Akhbar columnist Ibrahim al-Amin be questioned by police after a column he wrote on Monday threatened politician Marwan Hamadeh by saying: “Your days are numbered.”
The organisation has interpreted the remark, which closed the piece, as a death threat.
Media Against Violence has meanwhile claimed al-Amin’s published work over the last two weeks, in which the journalist published details regarding the International Criminal Court’s work, is “representative of the newspaper’s mission to distort the court’s work and intimidate witnesses, judges, security personnel and lawyers in an attempt to mislead public opinion and cover up organised political crime in Lebanon.”
The group has urged security and judicial authorities to “do their duty” by “putting an end to this inciting, intimidating and violent tactic,” meanwhile calling for an increase in protection for those working for the court.
