Michelin challenge design white vapor
The White Vapor concept is a creation of Oliver May, a graduate of the Industrial Design course at Bergische University, in Germany. The concept was an entrant in the \"Brave and Bold\",
Michelin Challenge Design and was put on display at the Detroit Motor Show.
The White Vapor concept was conceived as a vehicle to fulfill the needs of enthusiasts requiring extravagant, contemporary styling.
A purist sportscar, the White Vapor concept is based around a twin cockpit layout without rooftop and doors. The driver can choose between right or left steering wheel positioning depending on requirements.
The overall design of the White Vapor displays a striking mix of freeform surfaces and constructive elements intended to convey a strong and powerful image. The slim appearance of the tires is produced due to a shorter sidewall height, a larger wheel diameter and a fine line between the rim and the tire.
The chassis consists of lightweight aluminium and carbon fibre components which reduce weight and save energy.
Powering the White Vapor concept is a hydrogen fuel cell which generates electricity to top up the batteries which in turn power the four in-wheel electric motors.
