300 supercars will be on show at next month's festival
As an exciting new initiative for 2013, Goodwood is introducing an exclusive 'themed' supercar forward parking area for this summer’s Festival of Speed, running from Friday 12 July to Sunday 14 July. This new parking
area is conveniently located within the Festival of Speed site and will be reserved for selected supercars only, as chosen by a panel of experts.
This dedicated new Supercar Park area will enable the owners and drivers of the selected exotica to become an integral part of the many and varied Festival of Speed attractions, which will also include everything from current and historic Formula 1 cars and teams, Le Mans winners and competition motorcycles, to rally cars, pre-War racers, touring cars, the very latest super cars, plus a huge array of other attractions.
The new Festival Supercar Park is located within Goodwood Park, inside the actual parameter of the event, just above the popular Formula 1 paddocks. The car park is intended to attract a wide variety of the greatest road-going supercars ever made, include some lesser-known models rarely seen in public. The total capacity of the Supercar Park will be around 300 vehicles, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with all slots expected to sell-out fast!
As an exception for 2013, all variants of the Porsche 911 will be considered for the Supercar Park, subject to numbers and variety, to tie-in with Goodwood’s 50th anniversary celebrations of this iconic sports car – including the Central Feature display – at this year’s Festival of Speed.
Any true exotica listed on the accompanying 'eligible supercar list' may be permitted entry into the Supercar Park, subject to availability and the total number of a particular car already accepted, in order to give this area real variety and depth. If a true super car driver does not see his or her car mentioned on the list of selected vehicles, and wish their car to be considered, they may contact the Goodwood Ticket Office to seek clarification and consideration, with Goodwood’s eligibility decision being final.
