See the Spring Summer 2012 collection from Jaeger London at London Fashion Week With the heavens spectacularly opening just as we arrived at Somerset House, the Jaeger London spring/summer 2012 collection couldn’t be further away from the frenzied rain hitting
the show space roof.
Jaeger’s Design Director, Stuart Stockdale, transported us back to the exotic glamour of the ‘60s and ‘70s with a range inspired by the stylish jet-set – the sun-drenched island of Mustique in particular - and laid-back elegance of the beautiful people on their travels that had the whole crowd dreaming of their next holiday.
Trouser suits in sweet sorbet lemon, polka dot blouses, striped sundresses and textured summer tweeds all featured heavily, as did jacquard-inspired knits, Breton striped tops, below-the-knee culottes, and paisley printed tunics with pops of pale mint, apricot, pink and baby blue, plus spicy saffrons, zesty oranges and mustards.
The accessories were all created with sunnier climes in mind too and exuded a relaxed French Riviera cool, with the models strutting down the catwalk in reworked Jaeger vintage sunglasses, wide-brim hats and espadrilles.
It may be only the start of autumn, but after watching this we’re already ready to pack our summer suitcases. Now where did we put our passport...From marieclaire.co.uk
