Fahmi says everyone on the panel gets on well
Singer Ahmed Fahmi will begin filming for the second series of talent show Arab Idol, appearing alongside Lebanon’s Annabella Hilal.“I’m really loving it on Arab Idol,” Fahmi told Arabstoday in an exclusive interview. “I’m working
alongside some of the biggest stars in Arab music right now, including Ragheb Alama, Ahlam, Nancy Ajram and my friend, Hassan el-Shafei.”
Asked to dish the dirt on behind-the-scenes life on the show, Fahmi said: "We work as a team and we enjoy one another's company. I think viewers got that impression from day one. We're all keen on making this show the best it can be.”
Referring to a recent incident when Fahmi was arrested for allegedly appropriating clients’ funds at an Egyptian bank, the singer said he had “learned a lot” from the experience.
“I’ve learned to never trust anyone completely no matter what relationship you have with them. Some of my friends showed their true colours.”
"I can never forget the support of my wife, who never left my side for a second throughout the whole debacle, and also my fans who continued to support me,” Fahmi said, thanking everyone for their support.
The singer is set to release a new album to mark the 10-year anniversary of his group Wama, with Mohammed Nour, Ahmed el-Shami and Nader Hamdi.
"It will be a mini-album, just five of six songs,” the star revealed. “We have four in the can so far and we're working hard to finish it before mid-year so we can get it out before the summer."
