Sudan\'s finance minister, Ali Mahmud al-Rasul Sudan\'s finance minister, Ali Mahmud al-Rasul has said the Fayet animal and agriculture project and Fappy dairy mill in Nile State, north Sudan, were the perfect models for private sector projects, . \"This project is part of the tripartite programme adopted by the government to solve the economic crisis, calling on the private sector to establish projects that will increase exports and production so the government has to offer all the needed facilities,\" he said.
During a visit to the Nile State, Rasul called for field support for the Fayet project through tax exemptions, and no customs duties. Rasul said dairy production was at 400 tonnes , forming most of Khartoum\'s overall 600 tonnes of production .
\"I promised to protect local production after the Fayet dairy project has been expanded...the project needs $100 million for expansion, with guarantees from the Islamic bank in Jeddah to develop the project as a model while working with the minister of electricity, the Sudan central bank, and agriculture bank,\" he added.
The financial minister in Nile State Mudesir Abdul Ghani said: \"This project is considered a qualitative transformation in the state especially and Sudan generally supports the tripartite programme of multi-tiered investments including, chicken with el-Ragehy group (Saudi) and the new established el-Zahraa project, which will start production next December in marble and sugar beets as they agreed with Saudi group, cultivating animal feeds and oilseeds.\"
The project manager pointed out that \"that the project is working on offering food seucrity of 80,000 Fadden from the Fappy project for dairy products, juice, and packed water production, while the project owns three units including an agricultural unit about axial irritation, animal production by 300 animals, and a dairy production mill. These started production at the middle of July where a plan was presented to the financial minister and Sudan central bank governor in order to replace imports and increase exports, with a capital of 180 million Sudanese pounds, to be considered a valuable addition to the Sudanese economy\".
During the finance minister\'s visit, he was accompanied by interior minister Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud and minister of electricity, water power Osama Abdullah, and Sudan central bank governor Dr Mohamed Khayer Zobayer.
