Cecafe has hailed a \"healthy trade alliance\" with the Arab world London - Arabstoday The Brazilian Coffee Exporter Council, Cecafé, has confirmed that imports of Brazilian coffee into the Arab world rose by 1.5 percent in the first half of 2012. In a statement, the organisation said that coffee worth $106.9m was brought into Middle Eastern countries. This amounted to 526,464 pieces of 60kg coffee bags to various markets across the region. The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the news of cooperation between Brazil and the Arab states. CEO Michel Alaby said: \"The increase in revenue during the first six months of 2012 is a strong indication that we are in the right direction as we continue to cultivate healthy trade alliances between Brazil and the Arab world.\" A recent report issued by the chamber of commerce noted that Brazilian exports to Saudi Arabia reached over $1.5bn during the first eight months of 2012.
